Sending a Fax via Email

Sending a fax via email is the fastest and most useful way to convert your documents into a fax and send them to someone's fax machine. Follow the steps below to send your efax by email:

1. Create an email containing the following mandatory elements:

  • To: - Must be set to the following address to work: efax@efax.magnavoip.com.
  • Subject: - The subject line is used by the system to determine the numbers you wish to send the fax to. This line can only contain the destination fax number (e.g. +17195555555) or several fax numbers separated by blanks (e.g.: 17195551234 17195554321 17195559876).
  • The email body - You need to leave this field empty.
  • Attachments - The actual fax content is taken from the attachment by the system. There are three types of supported attachments: JPEG, PDF, and TIFF. If an unsupported file is attached, the system will fail to send the fax.

2. Once your message has been sent, you will receive a Confirmation Email, indicating that our system has received the message.

3. Click the link in the confirmation email! This schedules our system to send the EFax. If you do not click the link, the fax will not be sent.

4. Once the fax has been sent - successfully or not - you will receive a Fax Delivery Report.

PDF Pro Tip: If you want the best results with faxing PDF files, then you should create the PDF using embedded fonts.

Dialing Pro Tip: We have the option to force a call to use a legacy system that may increase fax stability. Prepend "000" on to the dialed number to force a call through this system, such as using 00017195551234 for the Subject line (as above).
